New releases for the week of September 6, 2011

The cover of Abstract Artimus's Rite of Passage is reason enough to be our favorite album this week (pictured). Yes, we are a little late posting the information about new releases for this Labor Day week. Holidays often have a way of delaying things--they also make for rather light weeks (compare it to what's coming up). That doesn't mean Abstract Artimus isn't the only one pulling off impressive efforts, The Rapture also return with a new one, Charlotte Gainsbourg puts out an EP, and The Chemical Brothers soundtrack for Hanna finally gets a proper physical release. A complete-as-we-can-get-it list is right below.

Neon Hitch covers Kreayshawn

Neon Hitch is apparently trying for a certain niche: hip-hop covers. It's not the first time she's put her own spin on the genre. Check out her cover of Kreayshawn's "Guchi Guchi" above.

Kyle Andrews searches for the heart

Electronic artist Kyle Andrews has got plenty of bleeps, bloops, and synths to create some pretty pop masterpieces, and now he's apparently got a video to accompany one of them. You can view "The Search For The Heart" above. His album, Robot Learn Love, is out now.

Teeth get all dressed up for their new video

An email pitching the new video from Teeth described the band as both "noise" and "electronic-punk." They're really more in the latter category. What really caught my attention was the cross-dressing video for the song "Care Bear." Check it out above.
