Pains of Being Pure at Heart plan more tour dates

The last time we checked in with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, they were planning a tour of the west coast. We were a little disappointed that the band weren't coming around this neck of the woods, but we knew it wouldn't be long before they were in town again. In fact, they'll be rocking at Webster Hall on May 6, at the end of the tour (schedule is below).

Tera Melos and Marnie Stern return to the road together


This won't be the first time that Tera Melos and Marnie Stern have shared the stage for a bill bound to be technical and noisy. Wanda Jackson and Jack White team up

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame star Wanda Jackson is back in the limelight again; thanks in no small part to Mr. Jack White. The White Stripes guitarist produced Jackson's upcoming album, The Party Ain’t Over, which is set to be released via Nonesuch White's own Third Man Records on January 25. As if that's not enough, the two will be on stage together for a few shows on Wanda Jackson's upcoming tour--including sold out dates in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Full schedule is below.

Pepper Rabbit hops on tour with Ra Ra Riot and Miniature Tigers

Pepper Rabbit were one of those hyped up bands at CMJ last year, and with their debut release, Beauregard, out now on one of our favorite labels, Kanine, the hype was well-deserved. Duran Duran launch video contest

Duran Duran are trying to change the game of music. First, they put out an album exclusively on iTunes long before a physical CD is set to hit stores. Now they have prepared a contest for fans to create videos for each and every one of the songs from the album. It's pretty fair to say that Matt Pond PA had a pretty good 2010. The band's latest, The Dark Leaves, was released, and the act's "Snow Day" was used in a commercial for Starbucks. Wire are true legends in the world of the post-punk, the world of indie, and the world of rock in general. The band have never continued to produce material for three decades, and their latest, Red Barked Tree, arrives next week.
