Brendan Benson tours this fall

Brendan Benson had a successful career as a singer-songwriter long before he became a member of The Raconteurs. He continues to perform solo, crafting new material, and even helping with material for others. Well & Goode released a 7" the other day on Benson's label imprint. He helped mix and master the record.

In other Brendan Benson news, the singer-songwriter plans to head out on the road in November. The New York stop on the tour is at Highline Ballroom on November 13. The full list of tour dates is posted after the jump.

Kelis 3-D


The 3-D rage has really hit a new high. 3-D movies, 3-D television, and now...3-D music videos! While Kelis's new video for "Scream" isn't nearly as hi-tech as Avatar, the effort into the third dimension is still totally awesome. We KNOW that this won't be the only 3-D music video this year. Freezepop find Imaginary Friends

Indie-synth-poppers Freezepop have made their mark by appearing in Harmonix video games (Frequency, Rock Band, and more), but the Boston band certainly have a career outside of the gaming world. Travis frontman touring with Killers frontman

Fran Healy (the frontman of Travis) has a debut solo album out today entitled Wreckorder. Not surprisingly, a tour will soon follow--scheduled to hit the US in November. Healy will be joined by another frontman doing a solo joint, Brandon Flowers of The Killers. Doesn't it seem just a little soon for Flowers to be pursuing solo efforts? The pair's touring schedule is posted below.

Sure, the new Lola Dutronic video has a few nude breasts in it (warning: NSFW above), but does that really warrant a banning from Youtube? Can't it just hide behind an 18+ warning or something? Then again, consider the history of Google (owner of Youtube) promoting censorship while arguing against it; maybe it's no surprise.

Funeral Party comes to the US

RCA will be releasing Golden Age of Nowhere, the debut album from UK buzz-band Funeral Party, on January 25 of next year. In anticipation of the upcoming album, the band will be arriving in the states for a short string of shows with Two Door Cinema Club. Strangely, New York City seems to be missed on this schedule, and before long the band will be back in the UK, playing shows with 30 Seconds to Mars.

Wakey! Wakey! dances so good on tour

Wakey! Wakey! have had a pretty good year, and with each passing month it's getting better. The next piece of good news for Mike Grubbs (the main guy behind Wakey! Wakey!) is a tour with Jenny Owen Youngs. The two acts hit up Maxwell's on November 20 at Hoboken, NJ--the only NYC area the two acts are currently scheduled to hit up together--but Wakey! Wakey! will perform at Bowery Ballroom on October 22. The full touring plans for the pair is posted after the jump.

Neil Young makes le film for Le Noise

Braids sign to Kanine

Though we haven't heard from Montreal act Braids before, any band signed to Kanine Records deserves a listen. The Brooklyn-based label recently announced they will put out the debut record from the Canadian band in early 2011.
