Jack White creates the Triple Decker Record™

The Dead Weather release a new single this Friday for "Blue Blood Blues," but it's not the music that makes this new tune interesting, it's the medium. Three different versions will be put out. The first two are fairly standard--a 7" version and a 12" version, each with their own unique B-sides--however, the third version is something else all together. It's something called the Triple Decker Record™. Jack White (member of The Dead Weather and White Stripes) designed it; this new format is described as "a unique 7” version of the single embedded inside a 12” version." It's hard for us to envision this, and with only 300 copies in this format (100 at various brick and mortar retailers, 100 available randomly through mail-order, and 100 exclusively at Third Man Records in Nashville), it's unlikely we ever will!
