Despite the years I've spent in New York City, I don't think I've ever been to Carnegie Hall. Considering tickets for the venue can be rather pricey, I've made plenty of excuses to avoid the venue. However, it seems that from time to time Family Concerts pop up. These are reasonably priced (at $9), and next weekend Falu will take to the stage at Zankel Hall in the space at 1PM in the afternoon. Falu has performed in classical music venue like this before, as well as more pop spaces like Highline and Bowery, and even performed with Slumdog Millionaire composer A.R. Rahman at a Time 100 Gala. It's a way to get your culture without breaking the bank.
