Anavan played Death by Audio (photos), performing at Pianos tonight

The last time Anavan were in New York City, they performed as a four piece band. Now they are back to their original three, resulting in lead singer Aaron Buckley sharing drumming and vocal duties. For a few songs he triggered a laptop and bolted from the kit into the crowd. It caused a unique mix of punk rock and pop star antics that few can pull off, but Anavan do manage to make it work in a way that's far too entertaining. They play another New York City show tonight at Pianos with Dazzler. Photos from Anavan's set at last night's show are after the jump.
