Dan Friel | South Street Seaport | July 24, 2009
Dan Friel (aka one of the noisemakers of Parts and Labor) took to the stage of South Street Seaport a few hours before Black Moth Super Rainbow on Friday night. Though Parts and Labor have added vocals since their inception, when Friel performs solo he hints back to the early, voiceless (and even slightly noisier) days of his band. His solo set also lacks the aggressive appeal of a full band--Friel remained seated for his set. Fortunately, the interesting compositions were compelling enough to keep my interest. Plus, you can't go wrong with Casio-sounding beats. More photos from Dan Friel's set are after the jump.
