Cartoon Network gets real

I speculated recently about Cartoon Network veering away from cartoons and into the real world. Along with Andrew W.K.'s Destroy Build Destroy, the network is bringing a slew of other live action programming on board. This week, CN Real is premiering The Othersiders, Survive This, Brainrush, and (of course) Destroy Build Destroy. Check out some descriptions from the press release below.

Wednesday, June 24
THE OTHERSIDERS
8 p.m. (ET, PT)
“Queen Mary” The team investigates the HMS Queen Mary, currently resting in Long Beach Harbor. Paranormal experts say the Queen Mary is one of the most haunted places in the world with as many as 150 known spirits lurking upon the ship.

SURVIVE THIS
8:30 p.m. (ET, PT)
“Shelter” The group sets up a survival base camp together in preparation for the long days ahead.

BRAINRUSH

DESTROY BUILD DESTROY
8:30 p.m. (ET, PT)
“Crane Wreck” - Surfers vs. Techies Andrew WK moderates the mayhem as each team builds Moving Cranes from the debris of two AMAZING semi truck trailer destructions. When completed the long-armed crane on wheels will compete in a "fishing" challenge - driving around, picking up and moving large items from a pond for points.
